Martial arts to protect you and your family.
Real-world self defense, karate, kickboxing and aikido for kids, teens and adults, plus NRA certified firearms training. Practical skills, taught with patience, safety first at every step.
Training for survival, not for show.
Our training isn’t just about physical techniques. It’s about survival and practicality. Albert prioritizes realistic, actionable skills and emphasizes safety at every step.
The Red Dragon Self Defense style brings karate, kickboxing, aikido and knife defense together into one system, a fusion of ancient technique and modern training methods. Students learn how to strike, how to escape, how to stay aware, and how to stay calm when it counts.
It is not your typical martial arts show and forms. She is learning actual real life self defense situations and mixed martial arts.Christina Alfaro, parentTry a free class

Albert built Red Dragon to give Springfield families the training he believes everyone deserves: realistic, effective self defense for real-world situations, taught by someone who genuinely cares.
Parents talk about his patience. Adults talk about how hard he works them. Everyone talks about how much he knows. He works with every student as an individual.
I have known Albert for over twenty years. We have taught various ages, from 4 years old all the way up to 70 years old. I highly recommend.Master Howard Case, 8th Dan, Amato’s Goju RyuMeet Albert
More confidence. More focus.
We help students build greater self-esteem, self-control, respect and humility, on the mat and off it.
Real defense
Strikes, escapes and knife defense, drilled against real-life situations.
Confidence
Students who know they can protect themselves carry themselves differently, at school, at work and at home.
Discipline
Respect, self-control and focus are part of every class, not a speech at the end of it.
Safety first
Every technique is taught progressively and safely, so beginners can train hard without getting hurt.
Springfield says
“My daughter loves going. Training here has been good for her. It is not your typical martial arts show and forms. She is learning actual real life self defense situations and mixed martial arts. She is feeling more confident and asks to go to class. Albert is great with the kids and very knowledgeable in all forms of martial arts.”
“Incredibly powerful lessons. As a former police officer, I can tell you, you can never get enough training in self defense. Albert is a master. Thank you for working me hard.”
“I can’t say enough positive things about Red Dragon self defense. Albert has worked individually with both of my boys. The care and patience he has had while instructing them, you won’t find anywhere else. Very grateful and I highly recommend!”
