Confidence that carries.
The teen years are when confidence matters most. Our teens program gives students real skills and the self-assurance that comes with knowing how to use them.
Teens train karate, kickboxing and aikido through the Red Dragon Self Defense style, with a focus on what works in real-life situations: awareness, striking and escaping grabs and holds.
It is hard, honest work, and it pays off. Teens get fitter, sharper and calmer under pressure, and they leave the stress of the day on the mat.
Built for the real world
Striking
Punches, kicks, knees and elbows, drilled on pads and bags with proper technique.
Escapes
Breaking grabs and holds and getting away.
Awareness
Reading a situation early and avoiding trouble before it starts.
Self-control
Respect and restraint: knowing when to use their skills, and when not to.
From our families
“An excellent place for kids and adults. My children, who are entering their teens, have really enjoyed it because the teacher is very professional and understands each of their needs, especially mine with ADHD and autism. They leave all their stress in class.”
“My daughter loves going. Training here has been good for her. It is not your typical martial arts show and forms. She is learning actual real life self defense situations and mixed martial arts. She is feeling more confident and asks to go to class. Albert is great with the kids and very knowledgeable in all forms of martial arts.”
“Practical self defense techniques. Good exercise, knowledgeable teacher. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced you’ll learn and have fun!”
“This is an exceptional martial arts school. The instructors are highly skilled and genuinely care about their students’ progress and well-being. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and offers a welcoming environment. Highly recommended!”
“We absolutely LOVE it here!!!! Wish we had started even sooner!”
“Great programs!!! And great people!”
Teens Self Defense, answered
My teen has never trained. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Most teens start as complete beginners. Classes are progressive, so new students learn the fundamentals safely while experienced students keep being challenged.
Do teens train separately from kids?
Yes. Teens 13 to 17 have their own program, so training is built for their age, size and maturity.
Is there sparring?
Teens drill with partners and work up to controlled contact in protective gear as their skills develop, always with safety first.
What should they wear?
Comfortable athletic clothes and a water bottle for the first class.
Ready when they are.
Book a free teens class and let them see what they’re capable of.
